Who am I?
I'm Carlos. That's it. I'm not an SEO expert, never claimed to be. I'm just a guy who completely missed the Google SEO opportunity and doesn't want to miss this one.
The short version: I missed the boat on traditional SEO — didn't know any better when everyone else was building link farms and optimizing keywords. But AI search is starting fresh, and I'm getting ahead of it this time.
The slightly longer version: I'm building this site as I learn. Some of what I share works. Some doesn't. I'm honest about which is which. That's the whole point.
Why am I doing this?
- To figure it out faster — Writing forces clarity. Building in public keeps me honest.
- To help others in the same boat — If you're freaking out about AI search eating your traffic, you're not alone.
- Because nobody else is doing it this way — Most "AEO experts" are repackaging old SEO. I want to see what's actually happening.
What I'm NOT
- ❌ An SEO veteran (I started learning this stuff in 2024)
- ❌ Someone with a proven system (I'm still testing)
- ❌ A guru (I have no interest in that vibe)
- ❌ Selling you a guarantee (I can't promise AI will cite you)

Current Status
- AEO journey: Just getting started (as of Feb 2026)
- Experiments run: Early stage testing
- Learning approach: Document everything publicly
- Results so far: Too early to tell (will update honestly)
- Traffic change: Testing and measuring
What works (so far)
- llms.txt — Most confident this helps. Easy to implement.
- Question-based content — Formatting for direct answers seems to matter.
- Schema markup — Probably helps, haven't proven statistically yet.
What hasn't worked
- Backlinks — Spent 2 weeks on outreach. 0 new links. AI citations unchanged.
- Longer content — Made posts longer. No difference in citations.
- Specific keywords — Traditional SEO keywords don't seem to matter for AI.
